The "Mission"

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, members have the wonderful opportunity to serve a mission for the Church as young single adults or senior couples.

A missionary's Purpose is to "Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end." (from "Preach My Gospel" page 1)

This is what I want to do. I love my Savior and his gospel so much! How could I not want to share it with everyone? I know the blessings I receive from this truth and I want others to have them and the peace and comfort I constantly have with me because of it. Now, I am no "missionary" yet and I struggle with sharing the Gospel and I know that this experience is exactly what I need to strengthen my confidence in myself and and in my testimony.

Not only will this experience help me to share the Gospel, but I will grow closer to my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost than I have ever been before!

I decided to serve a mission when a friend of mine was talking about her mission. Something she said really caught my attention. She said that on her mission she grew close to Christ and God and through that close relationship she learned to truly love herself for herself. At the time I had been really struggling with my self confidence. I learned that night that when you are close to Heavenly Father, you can feel His infinite love for you and in turn love yourself.

As time went on many other reasons came to me as to why I should serve a mission, such as the amazing opportunity to leave home and experience a new place, learn to love others despite differences, etc. But the most important one I have concluded is that God has blessed me in so many ways with His Gospel that there is the responsibility I feel to share it with all I meet!

I will be serving in the area surrounding the city of London. So I could be serving in Cambridge or Norwich or even Canterbury. You can refer to the map to the right. I will be serving with a number of companions also called to serve in the England London mission, under the inspired guidance of a Mission President and his wife.

I will spend my time finding, teaching, and guiding people to have a closer relationship with Christ and our Heavenly Father! It will be hard work, but the joy of one person finding this gospel will make it all worth it!
