Man oh man has this week been the best! We have been so busy!
Two days ago we got to witness our dear friend, George Bone, get
baptized! It was so amazing! It was even more amazing that his family
were all able to be there to support him in this amazing step he has
taken to come closer to his savior!
Sister Chiping and I were able to sing a little musical number, and as
we sang, I looked at his family, and I could see them together,
dressed all in white some day, going to the temple to sealed together
as a family forever! And that made me so happy. I have been so
honoured to be able to play a small roll in the lives of this family.
They will be dear to me forever!!
When George's mum was introducing us to her the rest of her family,
she introduced as "Sister Haynie and Sister Chiping, my missionaries."
Not only was George able to be baptized at the age of nine, but his
mum was able to come back to the church after being away since being a
teenager. And to have her say that I was one of her missionaries...
There is nothing to describe it! Such an honor to be a part of this
marvellous work!
Sunday... Oh man! You gotta love Sundays. But as a missionary, it is a
bit different than what normal civilians think. The days of going to
church and sitting back taking in the talks and lessons are gone. The
days of not having a care in the world after church, going home to
take a nap, or spend time with family, no more. Sundays can often be
our busiest day. Yesterday we had an investigator come to church, so
we were watching out for her, we taught the Gospel Principles class,
then because the normal teacher couldn't do it, I was asked to teach
the Relief Society lesson earlier in the week, then add all the people
you need to talk to to make sure the coming week goes fairly smoothly.
Whoa! I used to wonder why my trainer said she would get stressed on
Sundays. But I love it! I go to sleep exhausted, knowing I worked hard
and deserve my rest.
Man I love missionary work!! I have never loved it as much as I have
in the last few weeks! I will forever be a missionary!!
Not to mention we have a lot of things to look forward to in the
coming weeks, so stay tuned!
As a very dear Elder would always say ,"Just Livin' the Dream" every
day! And I am!
I love you all and hope that you have the most amazing week ever, and
if you haven't tried missionary work before, I dare ya to try it. Just
call up your local missionaries. I'm sure they would be delighted to
help you out!
Love the happiest missionary,
Sister Lisa Haynie!
WML Broher Clow, yours truly, sister chiping, George the man of the hour, his mum Emma, and his dad David.
This blog is about Sister Lisa Haynie and her experiences as she serves in the England London mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints! Weekly emails will be added with new experience and hopefully some advice for anyone who might want to serve a mission or will be serving in the England London mission as well! Enjoy!

Transfers! (June 14th, 2016)
Yes it is that time again. Transfers. And yes that was quicker than
ever before, it was 5 weeks instead of the normal 6.
And the verdict is.... We are staying in Huntingdon! Together! We are
so happy that we don't have to pack or move or get to know a new area
or companion! We figure this gift is because earlier president had to
take away our beloved Sister Obley unexpectedly and end the Huntingdon
trio. So he probably just felt really bad for us.
But we are happy we are staying! We love this area and the people
here!! Also, this Saturday our friend George will be getting baptized
and we couldn't be more excited!
Being able to work with George and his family as well as one of my
newest friends, Jade, has been such a privilege. There is no
experience like watching the gospel of Jesus Christ change people and
their lives. It is unreal honestly.
We were watching the District 2 video for 12 weeks study, and near the
end Elder Murray says something really profound to me.
He says something along the lines of, "Anyone who is worthy to serve a
mission and just decides not to is throwing away the best experience
God could give them."
That is so true. This experience has made my testimony rock solid. And
not just of the big things, but especially the little things, like
reading the scriptures, saying my prayers and going to church each
week.
This transfer is going to be so amazing! I can feel it! It may throw
us some curve balls but we can take anything! ( Philippians 4:13)
By the way, Elder oaks is hilarious. But more than that, when he came
to see the England London, and England London south missionaries, he
said that more important than teaching people to baptism, we should be
teaching people repentance. The knowledge that we have a God that
loves us so that he sent his son Jesus Christ, is way more important!
Usually that leads to people having the desire to be baptized, but it
is so good to give people that knowledge. People are no longer
believing in God, and to help some come to that understanding is
incredible in and of itself.
I love you all and I love this work! This is the Lords work!
Shout out to Scott and Dean! Happy birthday!!
Love,
Sister Lisa Haynie!
This is what people think missionaries eat all the time. Because this is what people keep giving us! The junk pile continues to grow ;)

Life of the Unwell Missionary ;) (June 6th, 2016)
So if I thought last week was tough, this week was worse. I was
majorly sick the whole week! Not even sure what it was. Some kind of
nose, throat, head thing that just killed me. And trying to get ride a
bike is just the worst. Almost every night my voice would just
disappear.
But that's okay. I think it was a test. Last time I got sick I still
worked hard and I got even more sick. When I got a blessing to get
better, it said that I needed to let my body rest and not run faster
than I had strength. It is just really hard to stay home when there
are places to go and people to see. So this time I didn't push myself.
As hard. I just felt bad for my companion, who was bored to death
while I rested. But we did a lot of good work!
But there were a few amazing things that happened! Yesterday was so
cool! I got to meet Elder Oaks!! I shook his hand and he said my name!
He came to the stake I am serving in and it was amazing! He was so
real. Even though he is an apostle, he is still a real person, and
with such a sense of humour! Apparently he really loves ice cream. And
did you know that he had to get a note from his mother to get a
marriage license because he was younger than 21.
I love this experience as much as it throws thing at me. I get to see
first hand the gospel of Jesus Christ change people for better.
We have a friend getting baptized on the 18th and another preparing
for the first of July. Please pray for them, George and Jade. Oh and I
also lost my flash drive that has all my photos on it from my mission!
So please pray I will find it. :)
Love you all!

πππ π€ππ (May 30th, 2016)
Hello all.
This week has been really (and I mean really) crazy. This week we were
working super hard and had made some big goals. Saturday, we still
hadn't seen too many results but we still had faith and energy! We
came back from sports at the park and when I came out of the shower
both of my companions were quiet and sullen. I was like, "what?"
Turns out president had just called and said that he needed to
emergency transfer sister Obley to another area, Chelmsford.
π§
I was gobsmacked. Apparently one of the sisters in Chelmsford had to
go home because of medical reasons, so that left the other sister
without a companion, and we had an extra so it makes sense that one of
us would be going. But sister chiping and I just feel so lost without
sister Obley. We literally just dropped her off in London and are now
on our way back to Huntingdon. It feels wrong without her.
But this is where the plan of salvation comes in. I know that no
matter what happens in this life, we will be able to see our friends
and family again. Plus I know that we will be having a two mission
wide conference in a week because Elder Oaks is coming! Not only will
we see all the missionaries in the England London Mission, but also
from the England London South Mission! So all my friends from the MTC
who went south!
Side Note: Sister Obley is a quick packer. Under 30 minutes! Last time
it took me over 4 hours!
But despite that, the week was really good. We had loads of miracles!
We have two of our dear new friends preparing for baptism! One of them
is an nine year old boy and the other is named Jade who we only met
last week! They are both wonderful and we are so excited to be able to
experience this journey with them. It is truly a blessing to see the
gospel literally change people and their lives over night. It doesn't
always work that way but sometimes it does and it incredible.
I know the church is true, the book is blue, and we are now just two.
But not forever:)
I love you all and hope you have an incredible week!
Love,
Sister Lisa Haynie!
P.S. I will get to shake Elder Oaks Hand. Twice. Because he is also
coming to our stake!
This is outside the American airforce base in Huntingdon.
This is what we do while waiting for people, make daily chains and take photos!

Hills, and Boldness, and Copies of the Book of Mormon, Oh My! (May 23, 2016)
Anyways, wow! This week has been crazy and fun! Once again, I love being in a trio! And I love Huntingdon! This place is so good, but it extremely hilly. And we ride bikes. Super killer. By the end of this transfer, I better have the best thighs ever seen, that is if I can stay away from the chocolate. #EnglandsChocolateIsTheBest!
This week we have been making a lot of new friends! Stopping by less actives and members. I am slowly making lifelong friends in yet another area. Man it is crazy the amount of love you can feel for a stranger you have only spent an hour with, but it happens to me all the time.
This transfer I am trying to be more bold, but backing it up with love. I hate the words, "it's alright" or "its okay." It isn't alright or okay! It's not okay that someone didn't read their scripture because they were busy. It isn't okay that someone skipped out on church because they didn't get to sleep early enough the night before. Even now I feel like this sounds really harsh, but this is serious. Even if these things are true, the blessings are being missed! God cannot bless us if we are too tired or too busy to do what he asks. That's the truth.
But enough doom and gloom. The atonement is so real! It really works miracles. I have seen the mention of it bring grown people to tears. It is so real!
I know that this is the true church and that we all desperately need to strengthen our relationship with our Savior. One way we can do that is through daily reading of the Book of Mormon. In our last meeting all of us missionaries were challenged to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it is true. I know what you are thinking, "duh, of course we know it is true. We testify to that to loads of strangers everyday." But they were serious. All of needed to reaffirm that testimony. And that goes for everyone in the world.
I challenge all of you to read the Book of Mormon and ask to know if it is truly the word of God. And then do something about it when you receive that answer! I will be doing it with you. I can promise that it will bring peace in this crazy life.
I love you! I hope you all have the best week ever!
Love,
Sister Lisa Haynie!

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise. (May 16th, 2016)
Helllloooooo! Hi from Huntingdon! Land of the American Air Force base
and home of the England London mission trio!
My days! So many things have happened! First of all, I love being in a
trio! It is like having a party everyday! Yes, it makes knocking doors
and talking to people a little more awkward than it already is, but
that's okay. It is a fun dynamic. Especially when we are visiting
members. Oh! And Huntingdon ward is so big for an English ward! There
are loads of families and Americans! I never thought that being around
member Americans would make me so happy. Don't get me wrong, I love
the English and getting to meet all the different types of people who
live in England but it just feels like a reminder of something from
home that I had forgotten about.
Don't worry, I'm not trunky. Just really surprised.
Anyways, I absolutely love my companions! Sister Chiping is from
Malaysia and is 20 years old as of Thursday. She is so sweet and
surprisingly funny for how quiet she used to be. She has warmed up to
us. She has only been out 6 weeks, but has such a wonderful missionary
spirit about her. She will do great things ;)
My other companion is a bit louder and tons of fun, Sister Obley. She
is from New Zealand and has been out for a little over a year. She
reminds me that missionary work is a lot less complicated than I make
it. Just love what you do and you will be happy and God will be happy!
This area is really nice but is fairly confusing. Apparently there has
been a Portuguese speaking missionary in the area for a very long time
and so there are lots of Portuguese people who were baptised in the
past and they have gone less active. None of us speak Portuguese so we
are finding it hard to follow up with them. We are also supposed to
teach an English class to people who speak Portuguese... That will be
interesting.
But I am excited to see how this transfer will pan out. Should be
really interesting.
This week we were teaching this woman named Chloe and she is so good!
She really wants what the gospel has to offer. We taught her the plan
of salvation and she really understood it. In my last area, it seemed
like everyone we talked to wanted to blame God for everything, but
Chloe knew that people have choices and that has more affect on life
than a lot of people will admit to. Some people just want to blame
others and not accept responsibility for a single thing. It is a big
relief to finally meet someone who wants to do what God would have
them do. Chloe is a miracle and i am so thankful to have had the
pleasure of teaching her. She is a reminder that there really are
people out there who WANT the gospel.
Love you all and love the gospel and am so thankful for all those who
made it possible for me to have it in my life!
Love,
Sister Lisa Haynie!
The Huntingdon trio. We want to come up with a name for our trio, suggestions are welcome!
This was in the back garden of a members house. The house was so massive, even for American standards. Everything in England usually is tight and packed.

So Long, Farewell, Avidazen, Good-bye ... Bedford (May 10th, 2016)
Hello all. I think I will be known as the sister who always has really
weird transfers. Yes! It is transfer time again! And sadly it is time
for Sister Shamukiga and I to part ways. :( But it is also time for us
to say goodbye to Bedford! Yes, that is right, we are both leaving and
the sisters area is shutting down. Man, shutting an area down is no
fun. Fortunately there will still be a set of elders here so they will
get to pick up all the people we have been teaching, so that is really
good!
However, it does not end there. I will be only moving one area over,
to Huntingdon! Apparently there is an American base there and I will
be in a trio! Ahh! I hear that Trios are hard, but I have wanted to be
in a trio since coming out, so I finally get my wish! I will be with a
sister from the district I have been in, Sister Chiping from Mylasia,
and Sister Obley from Samoa! Sister Chiping has only been out for 6
weeks so we will be follow-up training her. And Sister Obley was
trained by my trainer, Sister Ranck, right before I was trained! My
mission sister!
This transfer is going to be so crazy I can tell. We will see how
things go! I am sure many adventures are in store for us!
'Til next week! Love you all!
