Bedford! (April 4th, 2016)

Hello everyone!

Wow! This week has been crazy! It is strange to think that less than a week ago, I was down in Kent, and now I live up in Bedfordshire! It is interesting life can change so quickly and drastically out here serving a mission for God. But change is good!

We are on bikes and we ride that almost everyday, unlike in Gillingham where we would ride them  when we felt like it, or needed to be far places quickly.

But it is so beautiful out here! And it is a huge area! The other day we took a bus to another part of the area and it took us about an hour! And for the area being so huge, the transportation is pretty bad. I used to think that Gillingham had bad transportation but out here it is even harder and more expensive to get places. But in the famous (or maybe infamous) words of Calvin's dad, "it builds character!"
That conference though! GeneralConference was so good. I think my favourite one was Elder Duncan's talk about forgiveness! It is so true that we only continue to hurt ourselves when we do not forgive.

Oh! And my new companion! She is so good! Her name is sister Shamukiga. She is from Rwanda and she is the first missionary ever from her country! She was baptised three years ago with her parents and she has one of the sweetest spirits I have ever had the blessing of meeting!

I am excited to see what the next few weeks will bring. I am a bit nervous, having been in my last area so long, and the newness of everything is a bit of a shock, but "it will all be alright in the end, and if it's not alright, it's not the end"

The new district!

This basket is the most beautiful thing. The bikes we had in Gillingham didn't have them and they make it so much easier to ride. You can even take your groceries in them although I do not recommend traveling with eggs :/

#G2ForLife (March 29th, 2016)

Transfers have come once again!

And the news is... (Drum roll please) I'm moving to Bedford!

I am very torn! I love this place but I have been here for a long time
so I guess God wants me somewhere else. I will miss it dearly! 6
months! This is my mission birth place, this is where I spent my
birthday and Christmas and Easter! I love this ward so much! These
people are my family! My home away from home! Best ward in all of
England! For reals no joke!

But I know that it is what God wants. So I will go and do!

I am also so sad that sister Wright and I will be split up. We have
had so much fun together!

With all the packing I don't have much time to write so I will have to
catch you up on everything next week! I love you all and am so
thankful for all that you do for me!

Hallelujah (March 21st, 2016)

This week has been interesting. We had and exchange on Tuesday (too
cool! I love sister Ranck, my trainer!, and sister epicocco!) then we
had had an amazing district meeting with the coolest blitz on
Wednesday! We chalked the plan of salvation on Gravesend town centre!
It was so cool! People stopped of their own accord and we were able to
literally walk them through gods plan for us. The most exciting blitz
I have ever taken part of! Then on Thursday we taught a ton of people!
Just miracle after miracle. Friday we tried to contact a bunch of
auf's, not much of a response.

But then Saturday! Roger got BAPTIZED! This was my first baptism! I
cannot believe how happy I was for another person! Especially someone
I only met about four or five weeks ago! Being able to see his life
change before my eyes, that is something different. What a blessing.
And then on Sunday when he received the gift of the Holy Ghost, Roger
asked if he could bear his testimony! It was so sweet and pure and
heartfelt! He even pulled out his brand new quad from the ward and
read some verses out of the Doctrine and Covenants! We have never read
with him from that. So good! God is good!

Hello. . . Again (March 14th, 2016)

I can tell that this week is gonna be so great! Tomorrow  we are going
on exchange and they are doing exchanges different now. Instead of one
of the sister training leaders coming to my area and one of us going
to their area, we both will be going to the sister training leaders
area! So we are going to London!

We have a lesson on Wednesday that a member set up which is unusual,
but it is all because the ward is doing this 40 day fast for the
missionary work. Before you freak out, we are not all fasting for 40
days, each member and their family will fast one of the 40 days. It is
actually amazing to see all the members rally around the missionary
work! We have already begun to see miracles.

Speaking of miracles... ROGER IS GETTING BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY! I have
come to know Roger over the last 4 weeks and he is so sweet. I must
have said it before, but he is the perfect example of how we all
should come to the Lord, with a broken heart and contrite spirt,
humble and willing to learn. Just to see the excitement on his face
when we talk about baptism. He is absolutely stoked about the fact
that he is going to come out of the water new and clean!

I love you all and am so thankful for your support! I hope you have
the best week ever! Pray for Roger!

Mothers Day! (March 7th, 2016)

So this week has been good! By the way, yesterday was British
Mothering Sunday which is pretty much our Mother's Day. Happy Mother's
Day mum! Thank you for all that you have ever done for everyone! You
are the best!

Our very good friend Roger is still going strong! He is so good! He
does it all. It really has nothing to do with. He is the one who needs
this and is making it happen. Our ward mission leader made a comment
that he come ready with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, humble
and ready!  It is so wonderful to be able to witness miracles happen I
someone else's life!

Not much time! But I love you all and know this is Christ's true
church on earth!

Back at Dover!

all wards have their quirks, but this ward is literally my favourite,

to know my Savior better. I really want to be able to lean on him

instead of trying to do everything myself. So I have been slowly

working my way through the New Testament and it is making all the

difference! My mind has not been blown and I am not studying deep

things, I am simply learning of my Savior. The type of person he is.

It is amazing and it is really helping!

Roger(the miracle from last week) is doing so well! Beyond anything I

could have hoped for! He really is a a Golden Investigator. He really

wants to better his life and knows that it is through the atonement of

Jesus Christ that he can. He was able to be there for a baptism for an

8 year old girl in the other ward, and when we asked him what he

thought he said, "it must be such an incredible feeling to go down and

then come up and be clean!" I couldn't have put it better myself!

It has strengthened my testimony of the atonement so much! it is real!

And also of missionary work! There are people really out there who are

ready for their life to change and to be made better! I am so honoured

to be a small part of that journey!

"And They Did Fast and Pray Oft!" (February 29th, 2016)

Best Week Ever! (February 22nd, 2016)

This week has really been a game changer for me. Last transfer wasn't bad but it really wasn't all that it could have been and sister Wright and I agree about that. So sister Wright was talking to another sister whose area just bust out in success and asked her how it happened. The other sister said, "a lot of prayers and fasting." So we decided to start this transfer off right by fasting the day after transfers. But we didn't stop there, oh no, we even invited our ward mission leader and the bishop to fast with us. And then, yes there is more, we worked like there was no tomorrow... every day. We have been so tired this whole week. We have been riding our bikes like crazy and walking everywhere as well. We just have been doing it all. Including crashing my bike :/ 

Friday morning we were on our way to see someone, and then headed home for a quick lunch, then off again, but on the way back, I was trying to pull onto the sidewalk from the rode and I thought they were even, but the sidewalk was just high enough that when the broadside of my wheel come up against it, my bike was basically tripped. I tumbled off, hit my foot and scraped my knee (mum, don't worry I am ok) Sister Wright was behind me and saw it all. To heather side is interesting. She said I had the most graceful bike spill she has ever seen. Apparently when I spilt, I gracefully rolled off. All I remember is that I realised it was going to happen a split second before I did, and I couldn't do anything about it, and then I was on the ground. We rode hope and played doctor.

We were not able to do much the rest of that day because we think that I sprained my foot/toe, so I was limping, but it gets better everyday.

But the best into come.

Sunday we were able to witness a miracle! We worked really hard, even with my bum knee and foot, and it seemed like we were not moving very far forward. We had no one coming to church so during our companionship prayer, sister Wright asked that God would bless us with a miracle. She asked that someone would come to church.

We got to church, we went to the toilet really quick, and as we came out to head to the sacrament room, Bother Mannouch (our ward mission leader) pulled us aside and introduced its to a man named Roger. Now Roger is a member of the Salvation Army, but they have not been supporting him in his hard times. He also has family who are members of the church, so he thought he would come and learn today.

This was an amazing answer to our prayers! Just after sister Wright and I went and found an empty room and offered a sincere prayer of thanks, and it was not until then that I realised how amazing this was!

We sat with brother Mannouch and roger in sacrament, and at one point, brother Manouch leaned over to me and said, "interesting, this is what comes from fasting." 

So we taught him during Gospel Principles and then again Sunday evening, and Roger is so prepared. It is sad when people go through hard times, but it softens people's hearts to the message of the gospel!

I know that this message can help anyone and everyone, no matter what they are going through in life, good or bad.
